-- I generally prefer “clean” looking books, white background but I’m very happy to consider ANY OTHER ideas as long as it’s representative of a big time, high quality, top-notch brand. You can download book covers I like here: https://www.mediafire.com/?9zqb84jybd9vbsc
-- Even though I prefer white background and simple designs, one possible alternative many have told me to consider is back book covers with my green colors and some white fonts and highlights that perhaps might also work well. So again, I am happy to explore alternatives to my design thinking ;-)
-- Please feel free to use any stock imagery or imagery you own the rights to. However, if you use a stock image, no matter how good it is, think of an original way to implement, tweak or adapt it to my cover. So that if someone else buys the same stock image it doesn't look the same as mine. My cover needs to be unique and the image thereof must be associated predominantly, if not only, with my book and my brand.
-- When picking an image for the book ask yourself these questions:
1. Does your central image help capture the title and topic of my book in any way?
2. Does it compel the reader to look at it and hook them to buy it any way?
3. Is it somehow creative and unique in execution or idea or approach?
4. Is it in keeping with my design colors, brand logo and topic?
-- Make sure you spend some time on SingularityWeblog.com and Singularity.FM to familiarize yourself with my current on-line presence, colors, designs and topics
-- The color green is my brand color so keep that in mind when making the book design
-- it seems to me that it is best to separate and/or somehow highlight the 2 keywords in my title: "Conversations" and "Future" or "the Future". One way of doing that is to put each on their own line with a small "with" in-between. But this is only one way of doing it. There are other creative ways to capture and transmit the idea that those are the key parts of my title ;-)
-- For technical details you can use the cover guidelines for CreateSpace found here. Plan on 300 pages: https://www.createspace.com/Product…verPDF.jsp
-- Final files required are a cover file, kindle cover file image both in jpeg, .pdf and .psd All files at a minimum of 300 dpi but better if it is higher
-- I will also need a couple of versions of JPEG 3D files of my book and book-cover in high resolution for my website etc
-- I'm told that ideal dimensions for Kindle Ebook cover files in my size are 2,560 x 1,600 [If we do end up with a white background on cover the Kindle will need a 3-4 pixel border added to show the book because it displays on a white background.]
