When did you learn it wasn’t okay to feel your feelings? Society has largely taught us that uncomfortable emotions are best left unspoken and unacknowledged. When it comes to loss, death, and pain, this means we’re grieving in isolation or putting on a mask that doesn’t match our inner landscape. We need more resources for healing. We need more real life examples that honor and acknowledge the fullness of our human experience. While uniquely personal, grief is also a universal emotion. The stories within Good Grief provide a valuable narrative around loss by offering honest accounts of human emotion, and how grief, as heartbreaking and gut wrenching as it may be, can offer blessings if we’re open to receiving them. Good Grief is an inspiring collection of stories that acknowledges our shared humanity and embraces the power of emotion.

People who have endured loss and are looking for a perspective to healing beyond what society offers in its siloed approach to healing. Whether they are grieving loved ones, relationships, pets, jobs, or the intangibles of life, they are ready to make meaning out of their experience and not simply sit in it. This will also be a valuable resource for coaches and grief specialists as it will paint a colorful picture as to the textures of grief and loss we all experience.

Simple but not somber. I can see one of 2 things AND I am also open to being wowed by something else. Idea 1 includes tones of mid- and light-shade blues with a sans serif (feels more inviting) title in white. (Maybe a burst of light on the bottom half with the subtitle in it?) Idea 2 includes a branch of a cherry blossom (symbol for renewal, purpose, optimism) - if this option, I do not want it on a plain white background - it can be white, but something with a subtle texture to provide a sense of depth. Cherry blossoms or not, something that depicts there is something more to grief than the pain of it. No figures (humans, pets, etc.) Nothing that symbolizes being broken or perpetually down. Not an overall dark cover (remember, the subtitle includes “finding light”).
