With a goal to self-publish through Amazon KDP, I would like the book cover to convey confidence and compel the right audience to read the content inside. My hobby as an underwater tourist and photographer (aka scuba diving) finds me with a deep passion for God's creations in the ocean. I share that because I am drawn to blues with surprise splashes of color.
What to avoid
While serif fonts are supposedly easier to read, I'm drawn to san serif fonts. But I'm open to recommendations. I'm also not a fan of ALL CAPS because it means shouting to me. If ALL CAPS are needed to make the design work, I’m open to it. I absolutely detest the color pink and Times New Roman, so I would recommend not using that color or font. I think a lot can be done with the right creative design so stock images are not required. But I'm not opposed to them.
