Doxology in the Mist
Garrett Craw grew up on military bases worldwide during the Cold War. Before his senior year in high school, he walked through Stonehenge, exhibited artwork in Germany, and climbed Mount Fuji. Rev. Craw is a pastor with twenty-five years of experience planting and leading churches in Los Angeles, CA, and Austin, TX. In this capacity, he served as a leader on a national and international level with his denomination, the Communion of Reformed Evangelical Churches (CREC). Prior to that, he was an award-winning teacher in Los Angeles. Garrett is a black belt in judo and still competes in Master’s tournaments.
Many have spoken of their conversions as being surprising and of themselves as unlikely converts. Garrett’s experience was not like this. God began speaking into his life at an early age, and he sensed that he would be a preacher long before he became a Christian. His conversion was an inevitability. Garrett was born in Hawaii and was half Asian, half white and grew up mostly outside the United States. Through a series of strange incidents that took place in unusual contexts, God slowly drew him to himself. His life was filled with peculiar events; some painful, some joyful, some just plain entertaining. But looking back, you can see the path God was taking him on so that he would always stand in grateful awe. Doxology in the Mist: Confessions of an Inevitable Convert is written as an account of a life fully lived that didn’t satisfy. It is the fully caffeinated real-life tale of a son of Adam who was drawn back to his Father. Told in an entertaining fashion on three continents, this tale tells the universal story of a sinner being called to Jesus.
