It’s Christmastime in Balfour, and the story’s still complicated. The locals are getting ready for the annual Ladies Auxiliary Christmas Bazaar. The whole town is preparing for the upcoming event, and the scent of pines and cinnamon hangs heavy in the air. But not everyone feels the holiday spirit. Cora’s happy taking care of orphaned Jane, but she has so many lingering questions about who and why and how that haven’t been answered. Charlie’s in town for his furtive once-a-year visit to the florist shop. Marjorie’s made a mysterious out-of-town trip and can’t wait to get home. The Senator, Thomas, and Virginia are dealing with the fallout from Steve’s murder and what to do with the Wilton House. Marcie’s Piney Woods and Darcie’s Balfour Bed and Breakfast have been booked for the week with guests, some difficult and demanding. And Brother James? Well, he’s back having coffee in Cora’s dreams. This is Book 2 in a series, so it needs to go with the cover of Book 1, which we will attach for you to see. We are ok with the fonts changing if they need to, but we want to see at least one version with the same fonts. The fonts on the cover of Book 1 match well with the teacup that is on the cover, but we recognize that the fonts may need to shift to match up with the new images for Book 2. For the color of the cover, we need something Christmasy. So, Christmas red or Christmas green. On the cover of Book 1, there are two guns - one on the front, one on the back. We want that to be replaced with a hypodermic needle. Feel free to just find a stock image for that. Leave the cup on the spine! I'm attaching a child's picture. We want this image incorporated in some way that ties into Christmas. Use a small wreath, an ornament, a candle, a gift package, a snowglobe. The child's picture could be folded looking, could be peeking out from behind something. *Important: The child's picture should not be the MAIN thing. It should be included but the main item needs to be some sort of Christmas item. I've attached a simple snowglobe, maybe you could find one like that and then put some holly around the bottom of it and have the child's photo behind it? We are ok with the child's picture not being the prominent item, even hidden partially behind the main item. If you use a snowglobe with snow it in, it would nice if the snow extended behind the snowglobe and kind of spilled out onto the cover like the rose petals do on Book 1's cover. (Back and front.) Here's a more complete idea if the snowglobe one isn't clear: put a frame on the child's picture and have it organized with other Christmas items like a gift, holly, etc. We still feel like there needs to be something falling like snow that would coordinate a bit with the roses from Book 1's cover. Could be snow or some sort of holiday confetti. We DO need the dreamcatcher that is on the back cover of Book 1. This is a theme throughout the entire series.
