Criminal Psychologist, Callen Stone took pride to protect the security of the RAE system by evaluating humans’ propensity for criminal behaviour. However, the peace that he helped forged was jeopardised when an escaped murderer breached the security. Not only was Callen’s reputation at stake, but he was also forced to collaborate with the murderer to help her regain her lost memory, and uncover the deadly secrets of their Virtual Reality.
Book cover type
Genre: Science Fiction Font Styles: Sleek and Mature Book Dimensions: 8.5 x 5.5 inch Page Count: 338 There are three key elements in my story: a) Setting: My story was set in the year 3050 where humans could no longer live in the real world due to the outbreak of a lethal virus in the year 2050. Hence, humans lived in Virtual Reality for 1000 years, and only traveled back to the real world for food in the form of Energy Pills and Edible Water Bubbles. b) How people of the RAE Virtual Reality system are governed: Each person wears a ring on the middle finger. The ring displays a circular holographic screen with four different colors at the edge of the screen. Each quadrant of the circular screen represents a person's anxiety level up to 100 points in a clockwise direction. i) Blue (Least Anxious/lower left quadrant) ii) Green (Mildly anxious/Upper left quadrant) iii) Yellow (Anxious/Upper right quadrant) iv) Red (Criminally dangerous/Lower right quadrant) Humans are automatically captured when their rings turn red as they are deemed are potential criminals. c) The objective of the story: the main characters discovered the truth about Virtual Reality, the mass murders involved, and the origins of the viral outbreak. The underlying concept is the cycle (dichotomy) of Order and Chaos. Hence, I have a few ideas for my book cover a) Split face of a racially ambiguous man/woman (It will be nice if they are silhouettes): One wore a translucent high-tech facemask (with tinges of gold and blue) against an abandoned real world; the other wore translucent (but more defined than the former) Virtual Reality goggles against bluish-gold cyberspace. Both of their eyes have tinges of melancholy. I was thinking the split face could either be on the front or both the front and back. b) Two worlds split horizontally: The top is the real world, and the bottom is cyberspace with bluish-gold translucent balls neatly packed together. In the middle of the front is then a tiny man plunging between the two worlds, momentarily warping the reality. These are just two rough ideas I have, but I also hope the designers can create their own based on the information given. The faces can even be black-white silhouettes but perhaps only the facemask and virtual reality goggles are golden-blue. I know I have given a lot of details but it will be best if there is a simple, yet emotive and powerful design to represent the story or concept. Thank you
