Riley Middle School: Not He, Not She, Just Me
Mavis Sybil is an author of books for children and young adults. Her work spans many genres from fantasy to horror, mystery to adventure and is uniquely in tune with the emotional worlds of her characters and readers. Her books include Return to Atlantis, The Magic Unicorn, Madame Katlalina’s Love Spell, Spirit Guide, and The Attic: Are you sure you want to enter? series. A witch, with psychic abilities, Sybil brings a deep sense of the natural and supernatural to her storytelling for audiences 9-15 years old. She lives in New York City, with her husband, three children, and their poodle, Harry.
Twelve-year-old JoJo is confused about his gender identity. He does lots of research and, after struggling, trying to decide what category he fits into, finally decides that he's non-binary. The realization leaves him out in the cold as far as his best friend is concerned, who shuns him and wants nothing more to do with him. His only support is from his mom and his English teacher, but he has started on a path from which there is no turning back, whatever the costs and whatever courage he must muster. Even his father is alarmed when he accidentally finds out, and JoJo feels as if he's stumbling from one disaster to another. Will he be able to win over the people who matter? Or will he have to abandon some along the way? Or pretend to be something he's not?

SusansArt is professional and quite easy with which to work. She is also adaptable. When I described a scene for the cover then changed the concept once the first draft with complete, she didn't miss a beat and went ahead and provided a second vision which was even more creative. I cannot recommend her highly enough.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
