What's your vision?
All the Call-To-Action buttons on our site are terrible - they are the default small grey buttons that came with our eCommerce shopping cart software. I've been watching the analytics for our site and can tell that our buttons are making us lose sales. My main aim is to create buttons that will increase our conversion rate - I want buttons that are irresistible to click and will help guide the customer through the buying process. With that in mind i have some examples and guidelines... Guidelines are: Use colors that contrast the webpage to make the buttons inherently visible, clear and easy to understand within the context of the page as a whole and the other options the user has on the page. I am fine with gradients or shadows or other things that make the buttons "pop" as long as they fit in with the site and don't look cheesy. Use big, bold fonts and strong colors. Make them big! Design them so that they reflect the feeling of the site. See our site at www.shopemberfashion.com Ex: For an example of a button I like I'll use this page at Anthropologie.com http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/product/clothes-toprated/24041113.jsp I like that their "add to bag" button is unique to them and keeps with the sites design aesthetic. It is custom to them but not over-designed, it doesn't distract from the action that the customer is supposed to do. I don't like how faint the color of the button is - it doesn't draw my eye and make me want to click it. As far as sizing goes - see how the Anthropologie "add to bag" button is about as wide as the "size" box above it? I would like to follow the same principle - my "size" box is longer than theirs which is perfect because I think their button is too small. I need 2 different styles of buttons made. Both adhere to everything discussed above but one set should be brighter, bolder and bigger than the other. The brighter/bolder set is for actions I really want the visitor to take ("add to cart" "checkout" etc). These should be the size that I outlined above - about as long as the "size" box on the page and whatever height looks proportional ..... ( https://www.shopemberfashion.com/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?preadd=action&key=5263 ) The font should be roughly the same size as the "View Cart" and "Checkout" links at the top of the page. The more subdued button is for things I don't care as much if they do ("empty cart" "register" "continue shopping"). These should be about 50% smaller as well. Sometimes these buttons will be on the same page so they should be complimentary (or at least not clash!). The text for the bigger/brighter buttons is: "Add To Cart" "Secure Checkout" "Express Checkout" "Submit" "Place Order" For the smaller/subdued buttons: "Delete" "Empty Cart" "Continue Shopping" "Update" "Login" "Register" Font on site is Special Elite in Google Web Fonts. I hope that covers it - I know it's not a huge project with lots of room for creativity, but you will do much better than I could! Thanks
