lewd22 got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Cartoon Logo design for Mixtapeology.com
Check out lewd22's Logo design contest…
Mixtapeology.com is an online resource for hip hop mixtape (sort of like a promotional album released by an artist) downloads. Currently Mixtapeology is a blog but we will be launching version 2 this summer which will be a forum using the theme pictured in the full description. What we are looking for is a cartoon logo of a specified size that goes with this theme. There is a $350 prize for the winning entry and we will provide as much feedback as possible while the contest runs in order to help you turn our ideas into reality.
What's your vision?
Mixtapeology.com is an online resource for hip hop mixtape (sort of like a promotional album released by an artist) downloads. Currently Mixtapeology is a blog but we will be launching version 2 this summer which will be a forum using the theme pictured here http://img255.imageshack.us/img255/3186/greenfoxthemetobeusedfouv1.jpg What we are looking for is a cartoonish logo that will go where the "greenfox" logo is in the picture above. We would like our logo to have a cartoon hand holding an ipod (a black or white ipod video to be specific) in a sort of triumphant way. Next to that hand will be the main logo text "Mixtapeology.com" and underneath that our tagline reading "Filling up Your ipod since '07". For a better idea of how we would like the logo laid out please see this image we quickly drew up http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/7968/mixtapeologylogolayoutuo5.jpg Size wise we are not really too concerned as long as the image can be resized successfully to a height of 90 pixels to fit in with our forum theme. The colour scheme we would like is a transparent background but the same greens and blacks as used in the forum theme pictured above as the primary colours. For an idea of the font we would like to be used on the "Mixtapeology.com" text and the tagline text have a look at the fonts used in this logo http://www.waxchemistry.com/portfolio/logo_Logo_HMMG_02.jpg The "Music Group" font is similar to what we would like used in the "Mixtapeology.com" part of the logo and something curvy like the "Howie McDuffie" font is what we would like used in the tagline part of the logo. Mixtapeology is aimed at hip hop music fans so we are not looking for a childish cartoony style to be used, rather a hip and slightly slick style of cartoon imagery. That is about all we can think of with regards to what we are looking for. If you have any questions or we have not made anything clear then feel free to ask. We will also try and give as much feedback as possible on all entries. Thanks for looking and we look forward to seeing what you have got!
