GBGFlorida got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Logo Needed for Environmental (Brownfields) Redevelopment Foundation
Check out GBGFlorida's Logo design contest…
The Goldstein Brownfields Foundation works to raise money and provide scholarships for minority law school students who want to pursue careers in environmental redevelopment and environmental public health; to raise money to support educational outreach programming for local governments, community based stakeholders, and students, teachers, and professors; and to raise money for, fund, initiate, and coordinate the restoration, redevelopment and reuse of polluted sites in environmental justice communities for the benefit of families and neighborhoods. Our goal is through scholarships, workshops, and the investment of time, money, and our professional experience and expertise to increase the pace of cleanup and recycling of old factories, landfills, gas stations, and the like; create healthier neighborhoods and new jobs; slow urban sprawl; and preserve green space. We want a warm, fluid, vital, vibrant, logo that tells this story graphically through the use of distinct and memorable design elements.

What's your vision?
Accepted File Formats: Standard Web Formats (.jpg, .gif or .png); Vector Formats (.eps, .pdf or .ai) This is a labor of love for us - we're putting our heart and soul into it - and has been many years in the making. We very much would like a logo that helps us communicate through your pictures what we're trying to accomplish through our action, which includes the following: First, we want to try and bring more minority students into the practice of environmental law, environmental redevelopment, and environmental public health, all critical areas that need more qualified lawyers who are more broadly representative of the world around us. Accordingly, in terms of a design element, there should be some graphic representation of the scholarships that we intend to award. Second, but closely related to our first goal, is the financial support we are going to give to general educational initiatives that are undertaken to help individuals and communities understand how specifically to cleanup polluted properties in their midst and how to deal with public health issues. Finally, we're going to raise funds to go into blighted communities and find polluted sites that no one else will touch because they're too dangerous, risky, and expensive, and we're going to take those sites and clean them up ourselves and then work with community stakeholders to figure out how to best put those sites "back to work" in a way that benefits the the physical, emotional, and economic vitality of the neighborhoods in which they're located. We want you - we need you - to help us tell this ambitious story. Mogeek is the absolute best designer that I have ever worked with. I am a very difficult and demanding client and expect only the very best. He exceeded my expectations in every way. By the time we were done, I felt guilty not paying him more. If you have the good fortune of being accepted as a client by this designer, you should run, not walk, as fast as you can toward his work!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
