muesli-a-la-carte will be an e-commerce operation, customers will be able to visit the muesli-a-la-carte website, create their own mix of muesli, and have it delivered in a cylindrical carton of approximately 15 portions. There will be a selection of over 75 ingredients to choose from, 10 bases and 65 'goodies'.
What's your vision?
Accepted File Formats: Logo preferably in vector format The proposition Target market: Self-indulgent - 18-30 year olds/students enjoying 'everyday luxury' Loving - 30+ yrs, ABC1 Mum - for self, partner and children - providing a healthy solution to her families likes and dislikes Longevity - 50+ male/female - know what they like and dislike, conscious of what is good/bad for them 'Allergy alerts' - All ages with specific dietary requirements, food intolerances, eg those with a wheat allergy The product: Very high quality, tasty, organic, locally sourced wherever possible, fairly traded ingedients with provenance Free of additives and preservatives Great source of fibre, vitamins, minerals, proteins Oats - help lower cholesterol/good for the heart Consumption occasions: At breakfast, as a snack during the day, for lunch, for dinner, at work/at desk, late night munchies. What is required? A logo muesli-a-la-carte (NOTE: lower case m) A pack design - front only The pack is a cylindrical carton measuring approximately 115mm in dia. x 240mm high. Each pack will be identical and should show the logo clearly. A simple design is preferred, with lots of white space, to represent purity and simplicity. Each pack will be 'individualised' with a 'laser printed' sticker/ address label (any size, printed in one colour) showing the contents of the customer's special mix (generally no more than 10, but could be up to 20, separated by a comma), a customer reference number, up to 25 other words of text and an address. A web design - 1 page only Initially, the website will be the only sales outlet for muesli-a-la-carte. Therefore it must be extremely simple to use. The biggest challenge is how to show in a visually exciting and fun way that ingredients are being custom mixed. Not all of the 75 ingredients need to be shown at the same time. However, customers will be expected to scroll through two separate 'menus' (either at the same time or one after another) one of bases and one of 'goodies' and make their selections. The sample website page must show in a simple way, preferably by some form of visualisation, or listing, what has been chosen as a mix. Image: muesli-a-la-carte is not brown rice and sandals. It is healthy eating for the cosmopolitan urbanite. However, we want to avoid lots of lifestyle pictures of healthy people which we believe is a cliche. The product is simple and straightforward. The site must reflect this proposition. A muesli mix from muesli-a-la-carte is wholesome and tastes good, but isn't much to look at. An attractive site could be created entirely on the strength of simple photographs of the product and crisp typography. In image terms the site should be contemporary in feel, straightforward, minimal and honest. Pictures of the ingredients are essential, maybe in small piles, or phials, or squares, spoons or any other appropriate grouping. It should be more about mixing a secret elixir from a selection of rare and precious commodities in a laboratory (or maybe a parody of this idea) than making a cake or a loaf of bread. If images of the contents themselves are included on the site they should be in a simple format that are easy to duplicate in the future. The ingredients will continually expand (there may eventually be a maximum choice of 25 bases and 75 goodies). Product Description: By bases, we mean eg a mix of flakes (oat, wheat and rye), or a tropical theme (cornflakes, rice puffs, toasted coconut, and quinoa flakes), 'Goodies'/ 'Additions' could be spelt puffs, toasted maltflakes, cashew nuts, chocolate coated banana chips etc This contest was originally listed in multiple categories: - Logo Design - Web Page Design - Other Design Tasks

Ulahts was an excellent designer. His communication skills were excellent and he was always coming back with excellent ideas. His fundamental understanding of design and the design process was refreshing. We will be coming back to him again if ever we need more work done.
