Caliche's Frozen Custard is a local ice cream shop with three locations all in southern New Mexico! We are a fresh, fun and friendly establishment specializing in Frozen Custard treats and top quality hot dogs. Although we attract customers of all ages with wide demographics, we primarily serve friends and families that are looking to spend time with each other. We focus on giving our customers a memorable experience when they come. We try and keep our environment fun for all ages! This is quite possibly the most ambitious project that we've posted yet! We are looking for talented designers to take on the project of helping us redesign our menu boards (walk up and drive thru). We prefer designers who have experience with menu design and menu engineering to help us create an easy to read and visually appealing menu design. The Challenges. Our current menu designs are hard to read and inconsistent. From the photos provided you will notice that there is no flow to the current designs and too much usage of the same color and font. It's almost like reading a book. One of the biggest challenges that we have always had with our menus is the amount of content that our menus contain. The Goal Create a menu design that is easy for customers to read and understand. The design should incorporate our brand colors but not be overused. Different item categories should be easily identified and described. Since our menu contains many items and categories, we are looking for designs that are creative in the usage of space. We want to eliminate our menus looking too cluttered and overwhelming. It should be very apparent that this is a "Fun, Fresh, & Friendly" place by just looking at the menu. The color white is required as the background. In the uploaded files you will find our brand guide containing our fonts, logo dimensions, colors, and mascots. We are not too particular on the usage of certain colors in certain areas of the design, we just want a balanced color profile using our colors of coarse. The usage of blacks and neutrals are recommended (for example on sizes and prices) to bring attention to them. The entire menu will need to be designed on cells that measure 24"X48" boards. Please allow for a 1 1/4" margin on each end of the boarder that the menu design must not go across. If it is possible we would like to have the content or information text to measure 1" this leaves each board to have at most 48 lines each aside from bigger text for headers and other design elements.

Please take a look at our handout menu provided for influences for the menu design. We really like the header font that we used on our handout menu. Please use this font on the design. Although we have about twice the size of menu we would like ours to closely resemble theirs.
