Entertainment & The Arts
Anna B. Henris writes contemporary romances for adult readers who like traveling to places they have never been to, a good fight for love, and a little steam.
What's your vision?
Hello and thank you for your interest in this competition! This is an update to the briefing. I spoke to 99Designs today to clarify a few points. These are: - You can submit three more basic drawings (one full body for the female protagonist, one full body for the male protagonist, one full body showing them together) in one artboard instead of the usual one elaborate drawing. No need to spend three times as much of your time and effort! 99Designs confirmed that it is okay as per their rules if we work with three more basic drawings instead of one elaborate one. - The competition is now "blind". - The competition was prolonged by 2 days in case you'd like to jump in now (I'd be thrilled!). - I'm looking for a style of drawing that I could potentially stick with for a series of drawings for my author website (not online yet) and newsletter. This competition could therefore lead to a longer-term working relationship. What I'm looking for: Hand-drawings (no computer art) of two book characters in the genre of adult fiction (contemporary romance). The book is set on a farm in Northern Italy (mountainous), not yet published. Drawings might be used for an author website and newsletter but will likely not be used for the book itself should it ever get published. As mentioned above: I'm looking for a style of drawing that I could potentially stick with for a series of drawings for my author website (not online yet) and newsletter. This competition could therefore lead to a longer-term working relationship Style: - hand-drawn (no computer art) - water colors or charcoal or pencil Your (one) artboard file should include: - a full body drawing/sketch of the female protagonist (description below) - a full body drawing/sketch of the male protagonist (description below) - a full body drawing/sketch of the female and male protagonist either having a fight, holding hands, or your own interpretation as long as it shows them as a couple in some form of interaction (no sexual content, please!) Description of the female protagonist: Caucasian woman in her late 20s/early 30s. She's a highschool teacher. Rather skinny due to a trauma she suffered. Sportive when not traumatized. Chin-length, wavy, ebony-colored hair. Olive undertones in her skin. Moss-green eyes with golden and/or black specks in them (depending on mood and light). Hardly noticeable dip in chin. Not very tall. Struggling to overcome her trauma so expression-wise not super happy, more contemplative but not anymore in the midst of her desperation. In which pose you choose to draw her is up to you. Likewise if you choose to include background or not. Description of the male protagonist: Caucasian man in his early 30s. He manages the family's farm (think more like farming than business-style managing, though). At least a head taller than the female protagonist. Muscular due to physical labor in the mountains (so no "gym muscles"). Calm demeanor. Short, wheat-colored hair; only long enough to curl a bit over his ears. Scar on his hip in the form of a point which trails out a bit in a thin line (if you use this is up to you). Golden undertones in his skin. Blue eyes (intense, not light blue). In which pose you choose to draw him up to you. Likewise if you choose to include background or not. Thank you very much for your interest! Looking forward to working with you! Best regards, Anna B. Henris
