Food & Drink
We offer healthy cooking classes, educate about nutrition and are now offering a collection of healthy food products. The healthy food product line is a physical representation of our values- that is our commitment to making a positive impact on the health of our customers, our community and the environment.
What's your vision?
Our first products are Cultured Foods. These are organic pickled vegetables without preservatives or chemicals. We are starting with two types of sauerkraut and a type of kimchi. 'Cultured Foods' have a double meaning here. Firstly, they are foods that are traditional to cultures from around the world. Secondly, they are alive, nutritious foods, 'cultured' with good bacteria for overall health. The packaging is a 500ml stout glass jar cylinder. It is 4 inches tall and 11 inches around. I am thinking of a label that is made of cardboard (either natural or off-white), much like one of those cardboard sleeves you would get on a take-out coffee. ( 3"X12" including border and overlap) The Design: The brand has a young feel and is geared towards health and environmentally aware consumers, especially women. I am thinking of a clean design that stands out. Get creative here, but may I suggest incorporating a bi-section graphic of a cabbage? My logo should be featured and 'Cultured Foods' and then the name of the product. Let's start with 'Original Sauerkraut'. Requirements: The other parts of the label need to include a nutrition label of 2.2 inches by 3 inches, space for ingredients (up to six ingredients), 'keep refrigerated' and net weight, as well as our production space address and company name and contact info, oh- and space for two sentences or so of blurb about my company.
I am inspired by these images/ this style: http://c1ecolocalizercom.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/files/2012/06/olykrautlabel.jpg, especially the bi-section of cabbage in this print. I also like lino-print styles like this: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-CD-19hqogoY/Tft0rxXrO6I/AAAAAAAAAEY/5GidyMUI7P4/s1600/plant%2Bprint.JPG http://www.mcauslandstudios.com/illustration-archive/McAusland-lino-Asparagus-web.jpg Let's start with the 'Original Sauerkraut' design as a basic one. I would like to continue working with the winner to tweak it for the kimchi and other sauerkraut flavor design. I have a higher res logo I can email to you if you like.
