How hannah.bayliss started their product label journey
Simplicity clean lines
Again simple design.
Like this because its stylised
Very simple, bit stylised
Like this label because the owl label is on the back of the bottle but you view it through the front
This tells you what it is immediately but is a bit too simple!
Would not use the cardboard sleeve, but the label has detail around the edges which is interesting, and you can still clearly see what the product is
What colors do you want to see in your design?
Other color requirements
Also looking for gold, silver and steel
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
This is our first craft gin, which will be Navy Strength at 55%. We make it using an engineering still, think molecular distillery, not traditional copper pot. The distillery is based in an old Dutch naval air base called ‘Vliegkamp Valkenburg’. JVS stands for Jan Van Speyk, who was a dutch naval hero. He fought against pirates and during the Belgian war of independence rather than be taken, he blew his boat up. He stands for being stubborn, proud and never giving up. We would like the label to be strong, explosive and uses naval imagery but not stock imagery
Description of the product target audience
Over 25s (both male and female) with a disposable income who believe that craft spirits are of higher quality, and who want buy into a backstory. They like products that niche and unique rather than mass produced. Product will have a retail value of 40 Euros or GBP.
We are looking for a clever design that isn't obvious at first glance, but which does use the word GIN. Other examples provided show labels that have cut-aways, or are visible through the glass from the other side of the bottle. This label has to stand out from lots of others, so needs to be bold. It could be that JVS is the icon/image that is designed, rather than using boats
What to avoid
Olde worlde, old boats, old fashioned pirates. We are looking for modern
See the attached bottle spec. Will be using the 30, 50 and 70 Cl bottle
