Wahrheit oder Dicht
Description of the product
„Wahrheit oder Dicht“ (translation „Truth or Drunk“) is a drinking game that can be played at parties or social gatherings. The game is a drinking game variation of the popular game truth or dare, where players ask each other funny questions (truth) or perform a certain funny action (dare). The game “Wahrheit oder Dicht“ consists out of a set of funny questions in the form of cards that the players ask each other. An example would be: What was the most embarrassing thing that happened to you in public? Answer the question or take a drink!
Description of the product target audience
The target audience is female as well as male mainly in the age range from 21 to 26. But also older people (27-45) can have fun with it.
The box is a cardboard top-bottom box (see reference picture). Dimensions are 13,5 cm long, 9,5 cm broad and 2,5 cm high. The main focus of this design contest is the 13,5 cm x 9,5 cm front (and the sides). The back will contain some simple text and symbols. However it is not that important so there is no need for now to design the back, the back will be designed in a later stage of the contest. The front will include the name of the game “Wahrheit oder Dicht”. Apart from that there will be the slogan “Erfahre Geheimnisse, die du sonst nie erfahren hättest!“ on the front. I attached a couple of examples for you to see what designs I like. Here are also some ideas which you can (but don’t have to) incorporate: • It could be a good idea to design a subtle background with drinking elements like wine glasses etc. and some other elements highlighting the playful nature of the game and the funny and sometimes edgy questions. An example where this has been done great is the "Dreister" design. Here you can see champaign bottles that highlight the drinking aspect as well as sexy elements that highlight the edgy questions. • You could try to illustrate what the game is about in the name. The translation is truth or drunk. So the truth (Wahrheit) can be written in an innocent font and the word drunk (Dicht) in a not so innocent font, maybe with having devil elements like horns or a fork. A good example for this is the “Wahrheit oder Dicht” reference. • You could try to emphasise the edgy and “dirty” nature of the questions (A lot of them are about sexuality). • The packaging could look like it was a game for kids at first (Remember, this is a game that is usually played by kids and teenagers (truth or dare)!) but then adults got it into their hands and turned it into a “dirty” drinking game. How this could be done: Make the underlying design look like it was designed innocent, somewhat elegant and minimal looking. Then make it look like someone has scribbled “Dicht” (drunk) over the original word on the packaging which is “Pflicht” (dare). Then maybe scribble a few other “dirty” elements on the packaging (see reference picture for an example how this could be done). This is just an example that I thought of, you can also put your own twist to it. Here is a summary of what I am looking for in the design: • The name is clearly visible and readable and that it stands out. • The design is recognizable and unique. • Additional design elements should not distract from the name too much. The first thing the customer should look at is the name. • The edgy nature of the game is communicated in the packaging (either in the design of the name OR in background elements OR with the example above of the kids game that has been turned into a drinking game by adults)
What to avoid
Quality over quantity please. I prefer one or two very good and thought through designs over many mediocre ones.
