What's your vision?
Desired Style: Clean, modern, professional, Web 2.0 influenced. Accepted File Formats: HTML, External CSS Stylesheet The site is a membership site that will feature offers and discount codes in many categories. Members will also receive cashback into their account by shopping at many of the merchants. We are looking for clean and modern Web 2.0 style, probably with a lot of white space. The following link provides useful background to Web 2.0 (http://www.webdesignfromscratch.com/web-2.0-design-style-guide.cfm) One of the goals of the site is for it to be co-branded with the logos of the membership groups who are involved and when a member logs on they see the logo of their membership group as they are using the site. For example, the site members may be members of a club. The club logo then appears at the top of the pages when that member logs on or returns to the site. This means that the colour scheme used in the design must be capable of sitting alongside logos which may have quite diverse colour schemes. The standard/default colour scheme for the site will be based around the attached logo. Note that although the logo has black in it, we do not want the design to have solid blacks in it, as we think it will dominate the page and may not work well with some of the logos that may be used. Various other items are attached which will hopefully be useful to the designer. (The attachments can be found in a zip file at www.cpjunction.co.uk/dload/sitepoint.zip) The site is currently under development using php/MySQL. The programmer who is producing the site is concentrating on the functionality, not the design so it is not pretty at the moment! We are looking for the designer to focus on the following: The overall look & feel/design that will be used across the site, with specific designs for: the index page (which lists the offers) the offer detail page (which shows the details about the selected offer, and will normally also show the logo for the merchant) the design for a corporate type of page, which give information to customers about the site such as the About Us page, the Contacts page etc, which are expected to be two column pages with the menu in the left hand column and the text on the right hand side. We can then create these pages ourselves. We are looking for the designer to create the overall style that will carry through the site including the key components such as the appearance of the menu boxes and link buttons, the fonts and font sizes for the various sections, etc. A site that we like that operates in a similar way from a functional perspective that will give you an idea of what our site will do is www.quidco.co.uk. Note the site does not display different logos dependant on who logs on. Another site that interests us is www.prepaidreviews.com, although it feels a bit like it is generated by an ecommerce shopping package, rather than Web2.0. We are looking for a CSS coded site. We are going to need further enhancements and design input as the project progresses. For example, we will need an interesting home page (like quidco). We also have other traditional marketing material that is required so we are ideally looking to establish an ongoing working relationship with a designer.
