Stephanie.campbell got their new web page design by running a design contest:
AWESOME SKYDIVING WEBSITE DESIGNS NEEDED!
Check out Stephanie.campbell's Web page design contest…
The Australian Parachute Federation is the national governing body for skydiving in Australia, responsible for the sport's protection, promotion and development. We are a non-for-profit member organisation that looks after commercial drop zones and skydivers. We are not a drop zone and we don't do the jumping ourselves. As part of the APF's commitment to sport development, a new APF promotional website "www.learn2skydive.com.au" has been scheduled for construction. The purpose of this website will be to market the skydiving experience to members of the non-skydiving community by creating an image of skydiving that is exciting, accessible, fun and community-oriented - how it really is! The aim is to increase the number of individuals participating in tandem skydives, AFF/TAF/SL courses and beyond the A-licence stage (the first certificate of achievement that allows a skydiver to jump solo). By bridging the awareness gap that the community at large has with respect to sport and commercial skydiving, and providing content that incentivises involvement, we believe the new website will help to increase membership numbers for the benefit of the Federation. The new website will have a completely new look and feel to the existing APF website and is envisaged to incorporate multimedia content, including video footage and flash animation, high resolution photos and music. It is envisaged to be a vibrant, exciting information hub and the first port of all for all who are interested in learning to skydive. N.B. Currently we do have a website (www.apf.asn.au) but it caters to the needs of our sports members - those individuals who have already completed their solo skydiving training and become "experienced" jumpers (100+ jumps). The content is quite dry and intimidating for the regular person on the street who doesn't know much about skydiving or how to get involved but who might be interested in taking it up if prompted in the right direction; as well as those skydivers who are very new to the sport (under 100 jumps) and need to be constantly motivated to continue with it (which is the audience the new website will be designed to capture).
See inspirational websites for ideas. Design should be edgy and reflect skydiving's extreme sport status.
HOMEPAGE The homepage should introduce the APF and "Learn 2 Skydive" and direct them to search or browse our anvils. It has to be edgy and new with lots of animation, points of interest, vibrance and click points that invite users to interact with the site content. Remember, we are trying to get people interested in learning to skydive so we want them to stick around long enough to convince them it's a good idea. We want them to think that skydiving is achievable and fun. If you need more photographs or have a particular image in mind please let me know. I have lots of photos and may be able to source what you are looking for. As this is the first time we have used this site we have only opted for 2 pages of work. However, if you have great design ideas for additional pages we may be willing to pay for 5 pages or more post-contest. I am happy to answer any questions you may have during the project to help you with the design process.
