Re-design for Author & Speaker Website

Need a new design template for a re-design of www.VondaSkelton.com. Vonda is looking for a design that is professional, yet fun and whimsical.

Accepted File Formats: .psd or Fireworks .png (all layers must be editable) Layout The layout needs to be at least 700px wide with a maximum width of 900px but try to shoot for a 770px width for he content area unless it is absolutely necessary that your design requires a wider content area. Your artwork (background, textures, design elements) can expand past 770px, but the content area should be optimized for a maximum width of 770px. The design template must be flexible enough to accommodate both the home page and inside pages with a two column layout. The design must translate well to a CSS based HTML layout. Please do not use design elements that cannot be converted to CSS in an efficient manner. Navigation Horizontal navigation should be used rather than vertical navigation. Theme/Style Professional yet fun and whimsical. The design should lean more toward the artistic side with interesting patterns/textures and background designs rather than web 2.0 type of design with gradients and super clean lines. Good use of negative/white space should be used. Update: please read General Discussion comments for some updated feedback on style and color scheme. Colors Warmer colors including earth tones, but could include blues and greens. Vonda is open to any color scheme suggestions.
